What is a Burning Man regional event?

Burning Man only happens once a year, but burner culture is alive and well year-round. Burning Man regional events are held all over the world and are based on the Ten Principles, empowering burner ethos to thrive far and wide. YOUtopia is part of a long tradition of bringing the magic of the playa to the rest of the world while also celebrating the vibrant creative and communal elements of San Diego and the surrounding areas.

Vintage Future Playground

To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science. — Albert Einstein

Vintage: a period of origin or manufacture

Future: of, relating to, or expressive of time yet to come

Playground: a piece of land used for and usually equipped with facilities for recreation, especially by children

Wikipedia: “If ‘Futurism’ is sometimes called a 'science' bent on anticipating what will come, retrofuturism is the remembering of that anticipation.”

Vintage Future Playground is evidence that art can influence what we think the future will hold and how our stories evolve over time. Exploring the contrast of past and future as envisioned by the artist, art installations in the Vintage Future Playground invites YOUtopians to leave expectations at home and fully participate in the collaborative and playful art of yesterday, today and tomorrow as imagined by YOUtopians, leaving participants captivated, charmed and engaged.
