The Art Grant Committee is excited to offer Grants to help support our local community members in the creation and execution of their artistic endeavors! This year’s art grants WILL included discounted tickets for artists and performers. As a part of our effort to increase community participation and resources, the Art Grant Committee will aim to only award one grant per artist. We encourage those of you who work on multiple projects, or in collaboration with other artists, sound camps and theme camps, to empower different members of your team to take the lead for each project. Once all applications from unique individuals are exhausted, applications from artists who have already received grants this cycle may be considered.

Effigy / Temple

• One effigy will be chosen as a sacred space and awarded a grant.

• With our new location this year, we anticipate the ability to burn the effigy during the event. However, Artist/group CAN choose to keep the project after the Event, provided that you make a plan for transportation. YOUtopia in the past has been willing to assist in transportation and volunteer help on site during build/strike, but this is not guaranteed. Please provide your full plan for the life cycle of the art piece, and whether you intend to burn it. The Fire & Safety teams will assist with preparing for a safe burn.

• This year YOUtopia will take applications for an effigy or a temple. That said, if we receive applications for both and, if grant funds are available, we may be able to do both. However, it is not guaranteed. If we have both an effigy and a temple, only one will be burned (subject to receipt of applicable permits). Accordingly, the art that is not burned must be dismantled by the artist/art team and removed from the venue property at the conclusion of the event.
